  • Customer facing and client focused hospitality role. Promoting positive experiences for customers, including quickly building rapport with customers of all personalities. In this role I utilise quick thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, and exercise the ability to remain calm in all situations. I am a team player and am always willing to pitch in on a variety of hospitality tasks. Casual employment, held since Year 11 secondary school.

  • Organising and leading humanities and social sciences tutorials and marking academic work. In this role I have developed teaching, leadership, and organisational skills. My focus has been on promoting understanding of course material by way of guidance and development of students’ own independent learning strategies. I structured my tutorials with interactive elements which appeal to a diverse range of learning styles. I kept open and effective communication with my students, course coordinator, fellow tutors, and lecturers. I ensured that students felt comfortable reaching out to me for guidance, enjoyed being part of the group, and felt confident during tutorials and assessments. In every tutorial, I strived to create a welcoming and open atmosphere to place students in the best possible position to thrive.

  • Facilitating swim skill development for all ages, specialising in adult swimming lessons in the past year. In this role I have developed relevant teaching skills which include: quick thinking, problem-solving, providing and employing learning strategies, listening, and helping others to understand how to create their own learning strategies outside of lesson time. Structuring lessons and fostering engagement in order to promote maximum learning within the given timeframe. Promoting student confidence and creating a learning environment in which curiosity is encouraged.
  • Over past school holidays I have done administrative work in the Swim City office and oversaw the development of the use of Te Reo Māori in our swim school.

  • Leadership and development of the club and club community. Facilitation of strength training workshops with the ability to structure these workshops to be a helpful and engaging learning experience for all levels of strength training. Fostered relationships with businesses, other clubs, and qualified strength coaches. Development of relationships between the club committee and members to promote a positive and engaged learning environment with long-term returning members. Team leadership involving looking after my committee, ensuring all committee members are well informed, and have access to helpful resources. Representing the club at the Clubs Expo. Overseeing and negotiating funding and sponsorship.
