Summary

Compassionate Residential Support Worker proficient in managing resident behaviour.

Assisting clients in all aspects of everyday living to help them become more independent while providing all the personal cares clients need as well.

Positive and upbeat who really loves the position since being employed by Te Oranganui Te Taihāhā.

I've honestly found a role I love in my 33+ years working from labour work to factory work to customer service and sales, management, being a business owner and also growing up in Te Ao Maori on the marae as my life experiences have been helpful to Shannon, Liam and Billy, being the best versions of themselves they can.

Being supported by the permanent staff in the residence along with the full support of management and the families helped give me the direction for the mahi involved and with their confidence in my mahi being so effective with the boys development this gave me the definitive feeling of why I'm in the right position.

This the only job in those 33 years I actually love in all aspects from cleaning soiled clothing, sheets and floors to the boys sharing awesome stories of achievements and wins they have experienced during my time in the residence..

I'm seeking a permanent role as I have been the next casual in line to move into that position and believe I have all the skills, knowledge and experience needed in my toolbox to address any situation being kaimahi in the house..

Ive never had a day off since I started until today while also filling in to cover all shifts in the residence without delay. I also believe having the full support of Permanent staff, Management and the Parents shows my commitment, compassion and loyalty to the position being advertised and hope that would be of consideration..

I fully respect any decision made as I know I've learnt more about life and myself given the opportunity to be employed by Te Oranganui since July 2024
