Customer Service:


  • Serving behind the checkout and lotto counter in a friendly and engaging manner, handling till transactions, packing, and payment confidently and efficiently.
  • Calling home delivery customers and taking down their orders.
  • Putting together said orders for home deliveries, businesses, and the Department of Conservation.
  • Communicating with customers about their orders and ordering products for said orders when needed.
  • Picking and packing online orders.
  • Writing out invoices for the Department of Conservation orders and emailing them to the correct recipients.
  • Using a mobile EFTPOS terminal to put transactions through manually when needed.

Cash Handling:


  • Opening and closing the store, entering alarm code and locking doors, putting money in the tills in the morning and removing it at night.


Ordering:


  • Placing cigarette and tobacco orders weekly, and lotto stationery orders when needed.


Sole Supervisor:


  • Using a supervisor number to correct mistakes made on the till.
  • Writing up lunch break lists and daily task sheets.
  • Supervising part-time staff members after school and at the weekends.

Departmental Procedures:


  • Charging off daily orders to accounts from the florist and deli departments.
  • Taking and recording daily chiller and freezer temperatures with an infared temperature gun.
  • Checking scales are weighing correctly weekly and making sure tare weights are applied to packaging in the produce and deli departments.
  • Checking prices with a PDT gun to make sure they're correct.
  • Checking products for expiry and use-by dates.
  • Stocking and facing shelves daily.

  • Assembling and deconstructing stock displays.
