Work History

PA -Part Time

Elderly retired couple
, Wellington
07.2023 - 08.2024
  • My role was as an in-home aged care manager so that this couple could remain in their home as they aged. I liaised with doctors, nurses, housekeepers, chefs, tradespeople, and funeral/clergy staff. I arranged appointments and outings and accompanied them to these. I vetted and recruited carers. I facilitated their move to a retirement village, and then back home again. I was a confidant and sounding board. Sadly, both clients have now passed.

Kindergarten Teacher - Part Time

Moriah Kindergarten
, Wellington
08.2014 - 11.2022
  • My three children attended this kindergarten over the years, and I was involved in the parent committee. I then joined the teaching team as a relief teacher which later evolved into a one-day-a-week position. I relished getting to know the children & their families. As a trained Primary School Teacher I enjoyed employing my various teaching strategies in this setting.

Team Leader & Aged Community Worker - Part Time

Wgtn Jewish Care of the Aged Society - Charitable Trust
Wellington
05.2014 - 05.2022
  • I started as a community worker in a team of 3. My role included building one-on-one relationships with 30 or so clients. I would take them to appointments, shopping, outings, and activities. I liaised with the team, the client's family, health professionals, and service providers. I attended workshops to broaden my knowledge of topics relevant to the elderly. In my final year I became a team leader and my responsibilities increased, I organised monthly lunches for the clients, contributed to community newsletters, and responded to Board requests. I ensured we maintained contact with all our clients during COVID.
