As a Part-time Retail Sales Associate transitioning from hospitality to retail was a different experience for me - however, the customer service skills I gained from HOYTS made it easier to transition into retail. While working at PUMA Te Rapa I've quickly learned a variety of different skills; These include, learning how to demonstrate knowledge of store products and services, use product knowledge to assist, and suggest items that match customer needs along with being able to perform merchandising, and housekeeping to keep our sales area well-stocked.
During my journey as a Casual/Part-time crew member at HOYTS Te Awa, I worked in a unique variety of areas. From steady business hours to a fast-paced environment during peak times, HOYTS allowed me to hone my skills. From working in the Ben & Jerry's scoop shop to serving long lines in Treat City, I could climb the ladder to lead a successful LUX Bar. During my role as Bar Lead, I supervised staff members processing customer orders correctly on the POS system along with helping staff become confident serving alcohol. From this I learnt how to make cocktails & serve alcoholic spirits with ease.
