My personal career objectives are to obtain a position in mental health services to build long-term professional relationships and to widen and develop my nursing skills whilst using best practice techniques, policies and effective communication. I completed my pre-registration placement under Mason Clinic in the Totara unit, which specialises in acute/sub-acute care of forensic mental health patients in an inpatient facility.

I completed my second acute hospital placement under Te Whatu Ora - Waitemata in the Waitakere Hospital ED. I rotated between adult and paediatric ED looking after patients in the acute, monitored and triage sections.
WDHB | Waitakere Hospital | District Nursing | 20/03/2023 - 7/04/2023 (3 Weeks)
I completed my community nursing placement under the district nursing department of Waitakere Hospital. This included doing clinic appointments at the hospital and doing home visits out in the community with my preceptors. District nursing included mostly wound care, but also catheter changes and PICC line care.

I completed my Mental Health placement in the Te Aka unit at the Mason Clinic. Te Aka is a Kaupapa Maori unit which embraces and channels Maori values, concepts, morals and models of health to aid in recovery.

I completed my long term disability placement at Oaklynn Special School working with individuals aged 18-21 (OakTECH). OakTECH educates people living with autism, CP, down syndrome & other intellectual disabilities essential life skills towards leading an independent life.
ADHB | Ward 67 | Gen Med/Dermatology | 8/11/2021 - 26/11/2021 (3 Weeks)
I completed my first acute hospital placement in a ward that specialised in dermatology. I gained an understanding of different treatment approaches and methods for adverse reactions to medications and chronic skin conditions.
Bupa Beach Haven | Dementia/Psycho-Geriatric | 27/4/2021 - 26/5/2021 (4 Weeks)
Throughout the time I spent at Bupa, I learnt many basic skills that built the foundation for my further years of education. I was educated on how to care for patients who had dementia through communication and basic cares. This is where I discovered "one-size fits all" is not applicable.
