I've been in trenches laying pipe since I was old enough to hold a shovel, my Dad was a Drainlayer for 40+ years and I was lucky enough to learn from him. I'm a safety-minded Drainlayer & Leader with experience in repairing & laying sanitary stormwater, sewer & potable water pipe systems. I enjoy what I do & bring skill in properly aligning and positioning pipes & structures in accordance with plans.
Provided effective leadership to create a positive work environment that encouraged teamwork. Helped teach team members on proper drainlaying techniques & equipment usage creating a skilled workforce. Collaborated with plumbers, excavators, & engineers to ensure correct project execution. Sat & passed Certifying Drainlayers exam.
Demonstrated versatility in working with various types of civil drainage systems, including stormwater, sewer & potable water lines.
Left school & got a job as the laborer in a residential drainlaying team, completed apprenticeship after 2 years and got NZ certificate of Drainlaying. Worked a further 2 and a half years in residential drainage as lead Drainlayer in a team before sitting and passing tradesman Drainlayers exam and became a registered Tradesman Drainlayer.
From then worked as a Foreman at Andersen Civil on residential, commercial and civil drainage projects.
