My name is Denzel Wineera-Lutau. I am a 29-year-old male from Porirua, Wellington. I am of Maori, Samoan, and Norwegian ethnic backgrounds. Since leaving college in 2011, I have always had a good sense of direction for my career progression, which was helping my community to achieve the best life's they can.
My proudest achievement to date would be successfully completing the Bachelor of Nursing Pacific. My desire to make a difference has led me to have a background in Mental health nursing, Mental health and disability support work, then eventually transitioning into social services, where I am currently working for Wesley community action Waitangirua as the Sustaining tenancies Community worker.
I have previously worked for Toa Te Roopu Awhina Social Services, where I have held positions as whanau ora kaiarahi, Family violence prevention education facilitator, and Tiaki services (Porirua Covid support) Kaiarahi team leader.
I believe I am a compassionate community worker known for productive and efficient task completion. Skilled in community outreach and stakeholder engagement. I excel at communication, empathy, and problem-solving to address community needs and foster positive outcomes and I wish to further build upon these skills.
