Due to my place of work hosting a variety of event such as; auctions, markets, dinners and large show events such as Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show which attracts a very large audience.
I learnt quickly to adapted to different situations and different areas of technology. I would have many different areas to cover including; food preparation, bar work, managing the cashier and cleaning.
As part of the Childcare and development level 2 course I had the opportunity to gain work experience for a year at St Mary and Joseph’s Primary school.
This course allowed me to gain a lot of practical experience and help me to develop many valuable skills. I had to adapt to act as a teacher's assistant, looking after and teaching children aged 4 to 6.
This experience was very valuable as it helped me to gain skills such as; patients, team work and resilience. This also enabled me to be efficient and use my initiative to adapt and coordinate to specific children needs and preferences.
Working in a job such as this has given me knowledge regarding the importance of time management and organisation, which is vital when delivering food orders efficiently and controlling stock
Also, it has furthered my determination to provide customer satisfaction. This job role also provided experience in being a key holder and often given the opportunity to manage the café.
