I've been a part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces for 13 years, and I am currently the Unit Commander for two units in Wanganui. I have been able to learn, develop, and portray our four core values. Commitment, courage, comradeship, and integrity are integral to everything that I do in life. I have been commissioned as an officer in the NZCF since 2019, which focuses on personal discipline, leading teams, public relations, risk management, workplace safety, conflict resolution, as well as instructional technique and training management. Being an NZCF Officer is described as the '6th priority,' meaning it only takes up small amounts of my time each week, all in my own time, as well as compulsory services such as the ANZAC Day Parades.
I started as a crew member for two years, working in the back area, cooking and making burgers. Worked as a Crew trainer for one year, working in both the front and back areas, where I was able to develop my skills with customers and accuracy, as well as train crew members in safety procedures.
Shift manager for one year, working in all areas of the restaurant, including cash, profitability, crew management, as well as overseeing safety at all times. During this time, I have received a WorkSafe First Aid Course certificate, attained a Food and Beverage Service certificate with a strand in Café Services Level 3, and a Food and Beverage certificate with a strand in Quick Service Restaurants Level 4.
