I am currently working as a Guest Kaiako with the Learning and Public Programs team and as a Visitor Host with the Visitor Services team at Auckland War Memorial Museum. Both roles give me the ability to successfully support and enhance working with external and internal stakeholders from other departments, such as the bookings team just to name a few. As I am currently working with the L&PP department, I have confidently delivered educational learning programs to 3,382 museum visitors during the school holidays. I also proudly represented the museum when going offsite to different booked clientele, such as schools or private organizational groups, teaching them about Te Reo Maori, Geology, Palaeontology, and History by ensuring He Korahi Maori are embedded into our teaching programs and have thought many schools throughout Auckland. This role requires me to daily implement strong decision-making skills, interpersonal planning skills and leadership skills which I deliver confidently in different challenging environments, such as off-site and on-site at the museum. Working as a visitor host, I have a genuine passion for customer service, as seen by my exemplary visitor feedback attached to this CV and cover letter. I perform in this role with strong knowledge of customer service from my previous expertise. My responsibilities include following security protocols to oversee the safety of visitors to the museum and enhancing visitor experiences by being friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My biggest strength is to be a role model first in my team because of my experiences from my previous jobs, where I always represented myself as an example before leading and supporting others. I am in my final year of study, and I am studying for a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Information Systems and Marketing. I fluently speak three different languages: Hindi, English, and Telugu. This trilingual skill makes me an effective communicator. Being a bicultural individual myself and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, it’s important for me personally to support any workplace that values diversity and inclusivity, as I uphold the principles of Manaaki in my daily responsibilities.
