Ko Tamara Downes tōku ingoa. My name is Tamara and I have two grown children in their 20's, a 12year old son, and two adorable mokopuna. I am a person with high levels of integrity, respect, and initiative. I am self-motivated, conscientious, and efficient with a dedicated and positive attitude. I am resourceful in identifying and resolving issues and will always 'go the extra mile' while showing no hesitation to seek assistance if need be.

Throughout my employment history and life experience, I have developed a variety of skills and knowledge. I have excellent people skills and a 'quick to learn' ability, while obtaining exceptional transparent skills in communication and organisation. I have a base knowledge of Te Reo Māori, which is also my passion for my own personal journey of identity.

My passion is to work alongside and build relationships with Māori and their whanau ensuring their needs are best met in supporting their success and well-being.

I believe I demonstrate the ability to relate and communicate well with people of all ages, while being able to develop a rapport and actively engage to best support individual/whānau success and well-being. I value implementing and supporting structure around Tikanga Māori and Te Reo Māori to support relationships with our wider whanau while also supporting to normalise our New Zealand culture, my culture. I thrive on supporting people in general, and can naturally adapt my experience, skills, and values across all areas of life.
