Born and raised in the Wairarapa and having relocated to Manawatu-Whanganui following marriage, I am passionate about all things Māori and have made it my life purpose to pursue Kaupapa Māori theory as a means to bridge the divide between people and schools of thought here in Aotearoa.
Taught Te Aupikitanga ki Te Reo Kairangi Level 6 Te Reo Māori, and planned language aquisition curriculums for my students.
Took time away from my profession to work at Kōhanga Reo, to prioritise spending time with my infant son. In my time in this position, I led the development of a marae-based language training, and worked on the opening of a second Kōhanga Reo, Te Reo o Tuariki, based in Marton.
Researched Māori Models of Collaboration in conjunction with Lincoln University, as one arm of the Vision Mātauranga Collaboration Project.
