Three school holidays this year, I volunteered at Night 'n Day, Temuka, where my cousin worked as a cook. We would start work at 4.30am and finish at 2pm. In the last school holidays the shop moved locations and I helped by preparing food and stocking shelves. I also helped serve customers during busy periods ie: lunch time.

• Followed recipes closely for consistent taste, quality and presentation.
• Washed, peeled, and cut fruits and vegetables in advance to save time on food preparation.
• Remained calm and poised in high-stress, dynamic environment to promote service to customers and staff.
• Assisted customers with prompt and polite support in-person.
• Stocked merchandise and clearly labelling items.
• Managed efficient cash register operations.
• Greeted customers entering store.
• Worked with chef to prepare daily food specials and other supplies.

On teachers only days, and when I would stay in Auckland over the school holidays, I would go to work with my mum and do filing and scanning.

• Assisted with document scanning and imaging projects to support accurate file back-up.
• Sorted and classified documents into appropriate filing systems for increased traceability.
