Summary

A mature, dedicated, conscientious health professional committed to training and educating undergraduate future registered and enrolled nurses.

With 7 years of experience in clinical tutoring at Northtec / Te Pukenga, tutoring in multiple clinical fields, and specialities within the hospital and community setting. I am proficient and confident in liaising within the Northtec organisation, Te Whatu Ora, and the community clinical settings. And have established and maintained excellent working relationships which benefit our akonga.

From 30 years of registered nursing experience, I have well-developed interpersonal skills and knowledge which I use to mentor and motivate and teach students. I fully support and recognise the need and urgency to enable our Maori akonga to train, graduate, and enter the nursing workforce, meeting the nursing demand Te Tai Tokerau. I am passionate about working with and supporting students, and I believe this is a good opportunity and timing to progress my career into lecturing.
