  • Experience working in the intervention phase of cases, providing intensive support, convening family group conferences, dealing with court proceedings and monitoring plans.

  • Completed a new entry to specialist practice programme in 2022 (NESP) which supports social workers new to specialist mental health and addiction services.
  • In this programme I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health and addictions while in full-time employment, obtaining experience based learning within the Early Intervention team in Hillmorton Hospital.
  • Upon completing the NESP Programme in October 2022, I commenced employment in the adult crisis resolution team, supporting service users who are suffering from acute mental health concerns.
  • In this role I gained experience conducting psychiatric assessment to adults in crisis, formulated risk assessments and presenting my assessment to an MDT for decision making.
  • I gained the ability to use appropriate mental health assessment tools and work with an MDT to discuss treatment plans.
  • In this role I refined the ability to create safety plans involving family, natural supports and community agencies to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
  • I gained the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with nurses, doctors and allied health professionals.
