  • Operational responsibilities - Responsible for line management of all RMOs both House Officers and Registrars - total of 45 doctors for day-to-day operational concerns - includes but not limited to leave management approval (sick, annual, bereavement and medical education leave), roster management (short-notice shift vacancy management, reallocation of RMOs, roster notification and publishing), daily or as required problem solving for sometimes non-routine issues that may arise and may also involve confidential meetings or discussions re issues as arise and providing advice, pastoral care and administrative support for all RMOs.
  • Operational responsibilities - Direct daily staff supervision, oversight and training for RMO Unit administration support personnel.
  • Operational responsibilities - Daily Roster management - Excel spreadsheet roster creation (MECA compliant within required timeframes) and roster publishing, this also includes 'Microster' (electronic payroll system - transaction of all RMO shifts, for up to 45 staff), includes regular advising Payroll of RMO allowances and salary additional payments.
  • Financial responsibilities - Delegated authority to approve invoices, for training course costs, travel and accommodation costs, professional membership costs and other RMO related invoices and reimbursement claim processes for all RMOs and purchase physical/medical equipment etc. as required.
  • Financial responsibilities - Responsible to mitigate expenses for day to day operational expenses operating within budget as per MECA compliance and organizational budget constraints.
  • Financial responsibilities - Annual coordinating with Finance department accountant House Officer budget planning and setting. Includes reporting as required to CEO monthly RMO budget discrepancies.
  • Recruitment responsibilities- House Officer recruitment - Lead management of all recruitment processes, including advertising, interview, selection, contract offer and onboarding processes, orientation week and other mandatory training (on-site and online).
  • Recruitment responsibilities- Registrar recruitment - Coordination with various departments, doctors, managers, PAs in advisory and support role (with specialized knowledge and experience) as per STONZ and NZRDA MECA (Union) Collective Agreements, MCNZ registration pathways, Te Whatu Ora National employment contract requirements and guidelines.
  • External stakeholder Relationships - Developed and maintained relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers - Unions, MCNZ, Local Medical Practices, Medical Recruitment agencies, ACE Recruitment, Immigration NZ, Te Whatu Ora -Wellington, Flight Centre (Corporate Travel), Australasian and NZ Medical Specialty Colleges, Nation-wide RMO Unit Managers and various Supply Companies.
  • Internal stakeholder relationships - Developed and maintained relationships other departments including Chief Medical Officer (up-line manager), People and Development Group Manager and team, Hospital Services and Specialist Lead (formerly CE), Department Group Managers and their PAs, Payroll, Finance, Clinical Nurse Managers, Duty Nurse Managers, Switchboard, Outpatients, Head of Department Senior Medical Officers and others.
  • Internal Stakeholders - Change Process Management - Lead management for all RMO 'change processes' (with department Head of Department Senior Medical Officer, Group Manager, People and Development Advisor, RMOs and Unions) for implementing new RMO positions, rosters, position and run descriptions, department staffing (skill level configuration) and run reviews (following implementation).
  • Internal Stakeholders - Provide outstanding support and highly specialized knowledge of RMO MECAs to all RMO's, department managers, Heads of Department, People and Development Advisors and Chief Medical Officer on all RMO MECA issues, concerns, change processes, decision-making, as required.
  • Communication Skills achieved - Excellent oral and written communication with other staff members at all levels, both non-clinical and clinical including senior managers, team leaders, nursing staff, senior and junior doctors employing active listening and interpersonal skills. Including compiling and presenting reports, power-point presentations, participating in departmental meetings, minute taking, agenda organization.
