Summary

With passions for digital technology, teaching and helping young people succeed, I currently serve as HOD Technology at Papakura High School (PHS), and prior to PHS led technology at James Cook High School and taught at King Alfred and Writhlington High School.

I am delighted to have had many rewarding encounters with both students and staff. Integral to the success with learners has been finding ways to connect with them in spaces about their interests. Some of these spaces have included extra-curricular projects to do with coding, e-Sports, and recycling devices.

Being a community-orientated educator, I see myself as someone who serves staff, learners, their families, and their communities. This is closely aligned to my orientation as a lifelong learner who constantly strives to upskill himself, enable his staff and establish education-enhancing community relationships.

Professionally, technology is something that I have enjoyed in the private sector too. Between 2003 and 2008, I held management roles, which followed on from more junior roles.
